Enrichments are those activities that allow students to enrich the fabrics of their multifaceted lives. Whether by learning a craft or a game, or by studying something already known and merely honing one's skills, enrichments offered at Maru-a-Pula give students an opportunity to sample, or excel in, a wide range of activities: 

Bible Studies
Bible Studies is an open discussion group where students are encouraged to look into the scriptures and find out how Christian values such as love, peace and care could help shape their lives. It is hoped that this club will encourage students to practice these values in their day to day lives through their words, actions and character and build on their faith.

Bridge
Bridge is a thinking person’s card game enjoyed by millions of people of all ages around the world. The MaP Bridge Club teaches newcomers to play, improves the play of ‘old timers’ and provides opportunities for those interested to play in inter-schools tournaments.

Business Club
The Business Club introduces students to a wide range of opportunities outside the classroom that build self-confidence and prepare them for the workplace and real world challenges. It caters mainly to students in Form 3 to 6 who have had an exposure to business studies, economics and accounts.

Chess and Igo

Clay Club
The Clay Club makes mostly utility items from clay. Once dry, these items are fired then glazed and finally fired again. It is a slow process and usually a whole term is required for one complete production cycle.

Computer Programming
Students in this activity acquire and develop the skills of computer programming using Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code (BASIC). Eventually, students will be able to solve simple maths and accounts problems e.g. payroll, inventory control systems, factors and multiples, draw signposts, etc. Some students choose to write an exam conducted by the Computer Society of South Africa.

Cookery
Cookery is an enjoyable and productive activity, a lesson in which everyone participates and shares ideas and opinions on how things should be done. The Cookery Club makes a variety of foods ranging from exciting exotic dishes to interesting traditional meals. It is an activity for those who love cooking and trying out new foods. There is a very easy-going atmosphere with laughter and jokes prevailing. Most participants agree that the best part comes when the cooking is done and it is time to dig in.

Girls' Science Club
The Girls' Science Club is open to Form 1 and 2 girls and examines areas of science not directly covered by the science course in lab time. It aims to be fun and interesting in its choice of activities. Students explore engineering by building spaghetti bridges and constructing the largest paper aeroplane that can fly. They learn how to make marula juice fizzy, how to make exploding purple crystals and explore many other exciting areas of science.

IGCSE Drama
All students who are registered for Cambridge University’s IGCSE Drama in Form 4 and 5 are required to sign up for IGCSE DRAMA in the afternoon programme. This ensures that students have enough teaching and practice time for a course that is completed two terms earlier than other IGCSE courses. Students are required to attend two, two-hour sessions per week.

IGCSE Music
All students who are registered for Cambridge University IGCSE Music in Form 4 and 5 are required to sign up for IGCSE MUSIC in the afternoon programme. This ensures that they have enough teaching and practice time for a course that is partially completed two terms earlier than other IGCSE courses. It usually takes place on a Monday at 2 until 4pm.

This is one of the most popular clubs at Maru-a-Pula. Mantlwaneng is devoted to games from all cultures and all over the world. Mantlwaneng games include: mhele, chess, monopoly, snakes and ladders, diketo cards, kupe, dibeke and many others. All students are welcome teach and learn different games from other cultures.

Musical Instrument Tuition
Students take lessons in recorder, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano and music theory in preparation for Associated Board and Trinity exams. Instruments are available for hire from the Music Department.

Quiz Club
This club is for students who enjoy trivia and quiz games.

Recorder
This activity involves individual tuition in recorder for exam or non-exam playing as well as playing for the fun of playing in parts in drama productions. Descant and treble recorder players in groups of two, three or four are the norm.

Savior faire, savoir vivre 

Spanish

Students in this activity learn Spanish language and about the cultures of the Spanish speaking world. Learn Spanish… not just the words.

Telecomms
Telecommunications is a branch of electronics which deals with communication channels and all electronic equipment related to broadcasting and detecting signals. This activity is open to Form 6 students and acts as an introduction to the world of telecommunications.

Website Authoring Club
The Website Authoring Club allows students to learn about web design and development and build web pages for themselves and others. Club members learn to create a structured website with style sheets, tables, hyperlinks and incorporate basic dynamic features using Web Page Authoring facilities. After acquiring the basic skills, members should be prepared to tackle Web Page Authoring projects of their own.
